A Mound Over Hell by Gary Morgenstein
Praise
"You will enjoy this entertaining and intriguing sci-fi read…especially if you are a baseball fan."
— Dave Morehead, former Boston Red Sox pitcher
"the perfect follow-up to A Mound Over Hell. The high octane A Fastball for Freedom is the Empire Strikes Back of the series and we can't wait for more."
— Charles Briede, Editor, FoFNation.com
"a wonderful testament to one of life's eternal truths—that only baseball can save humanity."
— Ernie Paicopolos, Editor-in-chief, FenwayNation.com
"a plot that is breathtaking by its speed and high adventure, and with engaging characters whose actions are real and immediate. You can’t put it down, and you are happy that it has a sufficient length to allow the scope of the Dickensian panorama…a wonderful reading experience."
— Geekstronomy.com
"Reading Fastball felt as if Gary Morgenstein acted as a visionary who is straddling present and future. This book was even better [than A Mound Over Hell, the first book in the series]…"
— Ilil Arbel, author of the Madame Koska Mysteries
"A rich cast of characters that bring the story arc to life within our minds makes “A Fastball for Freedom” a delightful book to read…"
— RockwaterReports.com
"A Fastball for Freedom is a Field of Dreams in a nightmare landscape of darkness."
— Victor Acquista, author of Serpent Rising
"an outstanding work of literary fiction…"
— WormholeRiders.com
"filled with solid creativity towards what a world tore about by war, religion and humanity look like."
— Ironiq Media Network
"a precautionary tale, like a good post-apocalyptic tale should…we see a world where extremism in either direction can present as a dominant power, even when it is not necessarily the majority view of those it supposedly represents."
— Sci-fi Storm
"This series beautifully depicts a futuristic world where almost everything has changed… It is relenting in the best possible way…I highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in science fiction or baseball. It satiates both loves in a way I did not realize I needed."
— Action Movie Book Club
"Great plot. Great characters. It’ll really make you think. Just fantastic."
— Rick Limpert, The Tech of Sports, IHeart Radio
"It's like the Field of Dreams meets 1984."
— Geek Speak
"This work is action-packed and high-energy, but also thought-provoking and imaginative. There's something for everybody from political intrigue to baseball and robots. Some things in there really made me stop and think. It was like, get out of my head, writer. A must-read."
— It Came From The Radio (iHeart Radio/syndicated)
"The second book in the Dark Depth Series, A Fastball for Freedom will challenge and entertain readers while taking them deeper into the dystopian nightmare that was brought to life in A Mound Over Hell."
— Carrie Lewis, Girls, Beer and Sports (iHeart Radio, syndicated)
"a great read and thought provoking considering what is happening in the world at present."
— Nathan McConville, NetGalley Reviewer
A Dugout to Peace by Gary Morgenstein
"Better buckle up your box seat! This is gripping baseball fiction you simply will not find anywhere else. Gary Morgenstein exhibits in this book and its predecessor off-the-charts imagination and artistic vision."
